Caps First Round Playoff Schedule SetPosted on January 14, 2013 by Mike Vogel
Washington opens its pursuit of the 2012 Stanley Cup title against the Bruins in Boston this week. Game 1 is on Thursday, April 12 at TD Garden at 7:30 p.m. and airs on Comcast SportsNet locally and NBC Sports Network nationally. Game 2 will also be in that barn at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 14 and that contest will air only on NBC. The series shifts back to the District on Monday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m. when the Capitals host Game 3 at Verizon Center (airs on Comcast SportsNet locally and NBC Sports Network nationally). After a two-day break – the Wizards play at Verizon Center on Wednesday – the series resumes in D.C. with Game 4 on Thursday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m. (also on Comcast SportsNet locally and NBC Sports Network nationally). If necessary, the Bruins would host Game 5 on Saturday afternoon, April 21 at 3 p.m. and that contest can be seen only on NBC. Unfortunately for all concerned, if Game 6 is needed it would be played the very next night – Sunday, April 22 – in Washington (television TBD). In another unfortunate twist, the two teams would be twisting in the wind for a couple of days awaiting a possible Game 7. That contest would be played on Wednesday, April 25 in Boston if it is needed (television TBD).
